Aug 11 – Sep 12 Reception Supervisor, Ramada Farnham Hotel, Hogs Back, Nr Seale
After leaving Oban I again travelled for a couple of months then had a temporary assignment at 2 hotels, one a 4 star country house and a hotel on Guernsey before starting at the hotel where I was the Deputy to the reception manager and tended to work opposite shifts to him to offer full support to the team using the Opera system, after a management change I decided it was time to seek out new challenges within the industry and am currently working on temporary assignments while seeking my next position.


Nov 09 – Jan 11 Reception Manager, Oban Caledonian Hotel
I left the Loch Rannoch hotel and travelled and worked on temporary assignments and then went to work at the Oban Caledonian hotel where I ran a small team of 3 reception staff and 2 night porters who were all hired during my time at the hotel and trained by myself. The duties included covering for the GM most weekends and the reservations manager on holidays, I closed out online booking sites and did rota for the reception and night staff as well as training and duty manager shifts.


Oct 07- May 09 Head Receptionist/Duty Manager, Loch Rannoch Hotel, Kinloch Rannoch, Perthshire
After travelling for 9 months I chose Macdonald Hotels to work for on my return, I started at Forest Hills Hotel near Aberfoyle and trained here in Macdonald Core standards and Fidelio hotel system and enjoyed this time, after the original training period as a Receptionist I was transferred to Forest Hills sister Hotel the Loch Rannoch who needed me in a more senior position of Head Receptionist/Duty Manager where I immediately started to use my skills and experience on the ideas from Forest Hills and other hotels I had worked at. Responsible for Scheduling, Training, cash and credit cards as well as reservations and Duty Manager shifts

2005-2006 Head Receptionist, Somerville Hotel, St Aubin, Jersey
I moved to Jersey in April of 06 at short notice to fill an important position within the Dolan Hotel Chain at the 4 Star 2 Rosette Somerville Hotel, I was responsible to the Reception Manager and was in charge of training, cash and credit card sales, upselling, dealing with customer complaints and ensuring that the Reception team were at all times excelling in customer services. I was aware the position was seasonal but was asked to stay on in November but unfortunately it was very late notice and a combination of travel plans and Jersey's 6 day week led me to seek new challenges elsewhere even though I had a fantastic time on Jersey with Dolan Hotels.


2004-2005 Customer Service Advisor,Liberata, Bognor Regis, West Sussex
After leaving the Suffolk House Hotel I decided on a change due to financial reasons and a lack of Hotel jobs in the area and worked at a new Council call center. I was part of the Education team answering calls realted mainly to that but as the call center grew my duties grew also, I also helped with Trading Standards, Library, HIghway Department among others. During my 18 months here I realised that my skills and preference were more face to face customer services, preferably within the hotel industry and left to work in Jersey for Dolan Hotels.

2002-2004 Deputy Manager, Suffolk House Hotel, East Row, Chichester, West Sussex
I started working here in August of 2002 in the 2 star hotel which has 11 bedrooms a 40 cover restaurant and lounge bar. I am responsible directly to the owners and deal with the public directly on telephone and in person using a manual booking procedure as well as running the bar and restaurant, handling cash and credit cards .

2002-2002 Night Auditor, Grand Hotel, King Edwards Parade, Eastbourne, East Sussex
I assumed this position in Jan of 2002 and finished there in Sep of the same year, The Grand hotel is a 5 star hotel with 152 rooms including 32 suites and 14 junior suites. I was in charge of the auditing procedures, key holder, cashing in from 2 restaurants, 1 bar and room service as well as dealing with the public on telephone and walk in enquiries.

2001-2002 Duty Manager, Best Western Imperial Hotel, Fraser Sq Ft William
I assumed this position in April of this year and during my time here I have worked either 1st or 2nd shift and handled reservations, cash and credit cards handling, training new Front Desk staff as well as Direct Billing of Companies and Travel Agents and overseeing our 70 cover restaurant and lounge bar in the absence of the General Manager.

2000-2001 Assistant Hotel Manager, Rodeway Inn Civic Center
During my time at this property I worked all shifts, trained new employees on the operating systems and completely re-organised the Front Desk procedures, I also oversaw the Direct Bill accounts for our Trucker companies which included several in the tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars range, I helped implement rate changes which resulted in a 60% increase in ADR for the property and bonuses for the Front Office staff and General Managers.

I was hired at this property to cover for FT staff members; I learned a new operating system and was complemented on my Guest Services skills on numerous occasions. I ran Night Audit checked guests in and out, handled Credit Cards and Cash and handled any problems which arose with our guests.

I worked exclusively day shift and checked guests out, made sure house keeping sheets where correctly filled out, Made staff Rota, made and cancelled reservations in person and on telephone, handled cash and credit cards, transmitted all of our relevant data to head office and handled any staffing problems and covered for shifts at short notice.
