Converting VGA to HDMI is not a trivial connection - the converter needs to actively change the signal from analog to digital. It also needs to inject the audio (and, of course, keep this in sync with the video). We research these converters so you don't have to.

There are a lot of different ways to connect your PC to a TV. If you have an HDTV, though, the best option is using a VGA to HDMI converter.

A VGA to HDMI takes the common VGA output (found on most desktops and laptops), which is analog, and converts it to a digital HDMI signal. By connecting an audio cable to the adapter, the video signal is infused with audio also, so you only have one cable connection to your HDTV (assuming it has an available HDMI port - any HDTV made in the last three year years will have HDMI and many made before this will as well).

Why is it better?
VGA to HDMI converters are superior to other popular PC to TV converters because of the resolution of the output - with a traditional VGA to S-Video converter, for instance, text is blurred. With a VGA to HDMI, however, you will have a resolution that looks more like what you are used to on a monitor.
