Category:  Professional (Non-Nursing) Facility:  Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital Department:  Patient Financial Services - Self Pay Shift:  Days Hours:  8:30am to 4:30pm JOB SUMMARY: The PFS Analyst is responsible for the following essential job functions: • Creates, compiles, maintains PFS Key Indicators; responsible for a dashboard of various key indicators of PFS activity, to measure and report on, maintain. Continuously, creatively, seeks to add key indicators to the dashboard that would be helpful to PFS management, solicits from PFS management indicators or statistics to add to dashboard. Adopts common industry wide statistics or indicators. • Researches topics/issues online per requests from PFS leadership. Examples may be: industry best practice solutions or hospital industry PFS indicators; specific issues related to Medicare or Medicaid billing or reimbursement methods, etc. • Monitors and keeps abreast of government newsletters/notifications/requirements, regarding rule changes, regulations, current industry issues, and informs those that would be affected. • Analyzes account history and activity through Star or Streamline to troubleshoot problems, when requested by management or staff. Understands these systems to be able to determine cause and effect, and how the account got to its current state. Recommends resolution of account problems. • Analyzes accuracy of contractual and expected reimbursement of specific accounts upon staff or management request. Communicates findings in a clear and concise, understandable manner, along with recommendation for resolving any issue. • Performs training as needed or requested to staff on topics within her/his area of expertise. • Assists with contract management (PCON) maintenance and contract/terms/table builds • Responds to reimbursement questions regarding Managed Care contracted payers (knowledgeable of contracts reimbursement terms) • Helps resolves complex patient issues or complaints when requested • Coordinates external and internal audit requests
