The Payroll Specialist is primarily responsible for processing and maintaining payroll records in order to ensure accurate and timely remuneration according to the Bank’s policies and procedures and in accordance with all Federal labor laws and regulations.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties and special projects may be assigned.Responsible for processing payroll for an approximate Headcount of 1000 employees.Balance and ensure timely transmission of taxes and 401K to third party vendors.Audit of 401k and Executive Deferred Plan deductions and transmissions ensuring accuracy and compliance for each pay period. Transmit newly eligible employees to 401k plan.Prepare and transmit Child Support Payments to agencies at each pay period.Balance payroll data on each company’s worksheets every pay period using computer-based information.Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports based on payroll information including employee headcount and historical payroll data.Track and evaluate all employees’ absences on an internal database each pay period. . Calculate and upload yearly Vacation and Personal time accruals for each employee into the time keeping system.Interact with employees in regards to questions or concerns of their payroll or Kronos data.Perform research and coordinate information in connection with any internal or external departmental audits, including payroll or attendance discrepancies, retirement and worker’s compensation audits, etc.Complete reports including Payroll/Salaries Report, Attendance Report, Headcount Report and Employee Listings.Prepare Employment Verification.Process reports and requests from Department of Labor.Administrator for the Kronos timekeeping system.Prepare any additional reports on an as need basis.
