Established, International Shipping Company in the Norfolk, VA area is hiring 10 clerks in the areas of: Documentation, Customer Service, Booking, Administrative, Import & Export.  These positions are all for IMMEDIATE hire!  Position start date is Monday, January 26, 2015. Position Description All clerk roles are for individuals with excellent communication and customer service skills. This individual will multi-task and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment while providing best-in-class customer service. The clerks will evaluate customers' needs and ensure the most efficient transportation of goods. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Vary based on the position in which you qualify): Gather necessary information to prepare rates and quotes, and provide rate and transit options to customers Understand each assigned customer's business model and competitive advantages Coordinate cargo bookings and shipment needs Conduct shipment-level analysis to enable customers to maximize our technology tools Respond to customer inquiries and follow-up to ensure issue resolution Collaborate with support staff, overseas offices and other third parties to ensure efficiency, continued exemplary customer service, and relationship development Understand and input applicable financial components of shipments for proper billing of customers Generate, file, and maintain up-to-date and accurate customer records, reports, shipment documentation, etc. Prepare and review routine reports Provide support (reporting, documentation, etc.) to Sales Executives and Account Managers as they prepare for business reviews Perform other duties and projects as assigned
