Essential Functions: • Ensures confidentiality of all medical records information and completes forms for release of information. • Ensures all medical records filing is up to date. • Establish and maintain a sign-out system for tracking medical records. • Review record for completeness before filing • Establish and maintain a system for completing records. • Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations. • Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations. • Assist in review of all death records for proper completion. • Train medical record staff and organize coverage for all units. • Perform duties of medical record staff as needed. • Evaluate medical record staff annually. • Audit infirmary charts for completeness. • Provide requested reports to the DON/HSA in a timely and accurate manner. • Prepare files for NCCHC and ACA. • Prepare for facility/site audits.
