CLIENT My client is a well known premier global diversified manufacturing company. POSITION PURPOSE This senior level position is responsible for driving and coordinating the global strategic sourcing across a large global multi-site enterprise. Help lead the risk mitigation assessment with suppliers and develop appropriate tools. Lead the effort to automate sourcing related “dash boards". Engage with business leaders on the impact of sourcing and their business results.  This role is viewed as the Supply "expert" and mentor. Lead the effort to rationalize the supplier base by “sculpting" the supply base while simultaneously improving quality and reducing total cost. Assist in deciding outsourcing vs. insourcing decisions. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES This position will provide the company with supply management leadership to develop and implement strategies to coordinate direct and indirect material procurement across the organization. Define and direct Supply Chain management initiatives in alignment with strategic plans and supply chain stages (purchase price management but also strongly considering total cost of ownership). Broaden and deepen the relationships with existing and new suppliers while driving efficiencies, cost reductions and flexibility and nimbleness to adjust to the seasonality of the business. Support supplier development, partnering, contract negotiations and contract compliance. This is an integral part of linking Lean Manufacturing with Supply Chain management. The selected person will periodically assist and train Supply Managers in analysis of market conditions, risks, pricing and forecasts to reassess proper contract contents and terms. Help lead the risk mitigation assessment with suppliers and develop appropriate tools. Ensure that proper metrics are in place and effectively measured and communicated to senior leadership.
