Position Summary: Provide first level of technical support for computer hardware and software to the user community. Provide guidance and instruction on the use of applications. Assist with the implementation of new systems, upgrades, system downtimes, and troubleshooting systems with vendors and information systems personnel. Respond in a timely and professional manner to requests made through the Help Desk Call and Service Request systems. Maintain the KVM system in the data centers. Create and maintain data center diagrams. Monitor the health of computer systems and applications in the organization with the appropriate monitoring tools. Monitor operations jobs, system interfaces, print queues, print jobs, servers, and system backups. Maintain vendor remote access to systems for troubleshooting issues. Prep and install applications on desktop computers in accordance with documentation. Install and support applications for the remote user community. Replace monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, and other peripheral devices as necessary. Maintain master and backup software media repository. Maintain new hire, transfer, and termination processes for the network and major systems. Maintain access to systems. Participate in on call rotation. The Information Systems Specialist will be responsible for other duties as assigned by the Computer Operations and Helpdesk Supervisor and Director of Information Technology. *CB*
