Job Summary: May assist in the daily operation of the risk management function for the credit union.  Prevents monetary losses to the credit union.  Reviews and investigates suspicious activity and processes fraud and forgery claims.  Strives to attain resolution for all potential losses or losses incurred. Evaluates losses to determine the appropriate legal action for recovery. Prepares cases for criminal or civil filing.  Files cases and maintains records as needed.  Provides ongoing operational support for all staff.  Assists in ensuring staff compliance with all credit union policies and credit union compliance with all regulations relating to the following: Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Member Identification, and Foreign Assets Control.  Monitor reports and database for internal fraud. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Investigates and processes all potential losses or losses incurred for all account relationships via all delivery systems. Monitors account maintenance changes and overrides for potential fraud or credit union fraud. Monitors real time alerting system, researches alerts, and take appropriate action. Identify fraud trends and create rules, policies, and/or procedures to mitigate the loss. Assist with Member Disputes involving forgery claims. Conduct an investigation into fraudulent losses to the credit union to determine the appropriate legal action for recovery. Respond to law enforcement requests as well as initiate law enforcement involvement regarding criminally fraudulent activity Prepare cases for small claims court filing. New Membership review/new accounts. Research for subpoenas. Team Service line x6000- receive calls from internal staff with issues relating to functions within Risk or general questions. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
