Griffith Laboratories is a global manufacturer of food products.  Our products include seasoning blends, dry mixes, coating systems, dough blends, crumbs, flavors, sauces and food bases that are used in an extensive variety of application from snack foods and processed meat and poultry to ready meals.   We have a very challenging opportunity in our Maintenance Department for a Maintenance Technician.  We seek a dependable, quality minded, self-motivated team player who is able to work in a fast paced, high volume environment.   All applicants must be willing to work First, Second, or Third Shift including overtime.  First and Third Shifts are four days a week 10 hours per day.   Responsibilities Include: Troubleshoots and repairs Production Department Electrical equipment Works directly with the Maintenance Supervisor and other mechanics to troubleshoot and repair equipment and infrastructure Quickly responds to Production line calls, so Production personnel know the status of their machinery and repairs Can operate machinery in order to test its performance Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble Able to adjust functional parts of machinery and control equipment to make them work more efficiently Dismantles machinery to gain access to and to remove/repair defective parts Inspects special functional and structural parts in machinery Efficiently tracks daily work and time spent on each job, and correctly summarizes the time spent on each work category at day’s end Initiates purchase orders for parts and equipment Evaluates and recommends improvements in methods, procedures and processes Performs PM’s and lubrication for all Production Line machinery and mixers Can set up and operate the lathe, drill press, grinder, or other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Performs all work utilizing Good Manufacturing Practices and following all plant safety rules Other duties as assigned
