This position will generally support CKNA manufacturing groups by developing packaging including cost for all parts and models. Position will insure packaging is acceptable for all incoming parts which will also include packaging set-up for the service parts. ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Develops packaging for all models and assist as needed to locate and arrange for packaging to be delivered to CKNA sites and to suppliers. Requests and reviews quotes through purchasing for all new packaging. Researches and evaluates to determine the best packaging type and source for the various parts. Evaluates and submit plans to assist suppliers in having the best packaging to accommodate our lines. Evaluates and researches the cause of damaged parts getting to customers via shipping and develops a countermeasure to alleviate the problem. Work closely with and coordinate projects with the rack repair areas in Lewisburg and Shelbyville plants. Recommends and assist in creating packaging changes including reducing the cost of cardboard to the plants. Maintain and monitor the packaging budget to insure accurate records are kept comparing expenditures to budget. Target is to maintain the lowest cost feasible in packaging materials each month. Revises the PDS sheets as needed when changes are made on the floor and with suppliers. Travel to CKNA plants, warehouses, and supplier locations as needed to insure task are completed timely.
