Education and TrainingPharmD and PhD (preferred) in pharmacy or scientific areas relevant to clinical pharmacology and early clinical research (Phase I)Must be licensed pharmacist in state of CO or able to achieve within designated timeframeKnowledge of FDA regulations, USP guidelinesPrior experience in early clinical research (pharma, biotech or CRO setting)Understanding of the regulatory environment in clinical research and pharmacy laws that govern COAttention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to operate independently and across groups towards common research goalsAbility to positively and professionally interact with all levels of the organization as well as with external clients/sponsorsProven record keep and organizational skillsPrior experience in hospital pharmacy setting preferred, vast experience in various IV routes and administration, compounding experienceExperience with compounding non-sterile to sterile products (IV, oral, etc)Overall responsibilities70-80% - Direct Pharmacy DutiesBe an active member of study team providing expertise and support in evaluating study feasibility, study set up and conduct. Primary responsibilities include receipt, preparation, dispensation, disposition, and retention of all study drug products in compliance with standard operating procedures and applicable regulatory authorities. Required to review and understand study protocols in regard to drug product handling and dispensing. Attend and participate in internal and external client meeting regarding investigational product handling and protocol specific requirements. Full time position that requires working flexible hours and some weekend and after hour work required. Flexibility is key as our pharmacy schedule is completely protocol driven!20-30% - Business development and Scientific ConsultationSupport business development and scientific teams in identifying business opportunities, providing expert scientific support and help develop appropriate protocols and study plans to address their needs. Also represent scientific capabilities by leveraging knowledge of drug development at scientific conventions, client meetings and through consulting and technical publications.
