Electronics Technician for leading refurbisher!

Our client is a leader in electronic component refurbishment. Their process salvages waste and breathes new revenue opportunities into what was believed a faulty or damaged product. They are currently seeking an Electronics Technician for their Glendale Heights location.Technicians use basic electronics skills and test equipment to diagnose the cause and determine component changes needed to repair or remanufacture automotive electronics devices. Technicians also diagnose and recommend repairs to correct cosmetic and mechanical defects in assigned products.Responsibilities:a) Use oscilloscopes, power supplies, frequency counters, multimeters and other test equipment as required to diagnose problems in electronic circuits,b) Read and interpret electronic schematics,c) Diagnose and describe required repair of Surface Mount (SMT) and Through Hole printed circuit boards,d) Solder and desolder electronic components on printed circuit boards.e) Provide technical assistance to customers as required,f) Use basic hand tools to open and close device cases and make repairs,g) Enter tracking and repair data into computer system,h) Read, interpret and train others in customer technical bulletins and directives,i) Use good visual acuity to make cosmetic judgments on device front panels,j) Routinely handle electronic devices up to 15 pounds,k) Use safe electrostatic discharge (ESD) prevention practices.l) Must be capable of making accurate diagnoses of electronic, mechanical and/or cosmetic problems with assigned devices and be able to describe necessary repairs.m) Should have knowledge of computer product tracking system and make accurate data entries.n) Maintain courteous and professional demeanor during customer communications.Volt has been serving some of the nation's strongest companies for over 60 years.
