Summary:•         Checks and verifies prescription for accuracy, standard compliance, dosing or dosage form errors, and adjusts documentation and labeling as needed.  •         Assure the workflow is optimized.  •         Provides input into development of standards, policies, and procedures for achieving and maintaining high quality patient care.  •         Oversees the work of support personnel including direct supervision of fulfillment pharmacy technicians.                                                        Essential Duties and Responsibilities:•         Check and verify Rx label, drug name, strength, dosage form, and quantity with the dispensed medication.    •         At reject and edit workstation, researches and validates correct dosage directions, medication, and dosage forms and edits and corrects as needed. Communicates these changes via email or documentation. Review internal comments and encounter for discrepancies.    •         Maintains proper control and care of drug supplies and equipment.  Follow SOP for out-of-stock notification.   •         Monitors established quality assurance measurements for the department to meet objectives and regulatory requirements.•         In the manual pharmacist setting, provides clinical input to assure rational drug therapy, including checking for proper dosages, adding oral syringes or, medication cups for liquid doses, and attaching appropriate warning labels to Rx container or vial.•         Sign and approve all compounded dispenses and sign log sheets for checking prepack labels prior to release for dispensing.  Assist in prepacking when needed.•         Assist in pharmacy end-of-day closing and verify SOPs have been followed.•         Maintains knowledge and proficiency in the dispensing and checking systems with acceptable verification rates and overall efficiency.  Qualifications:•         Accuracy and attention to detail  •         Self-motivated and self-directed with a sense of urgency  •         Ability to perform a variety of complicated tasks, often simultaneously•         Ability to maintain control in stressful situations and offer leadership as needed.  •         Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.                                               Computer Skills:Proficient in Windows based computer skills                                                Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Registered pharmacist in TN, in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy
