The General Manager position offers a suitable salary within centives,designed to share the organisations success. It is a full timejob with5,5days per week or equivalent.
A flexible start time is available for successful applicants although an immediate start is preferred.
About the position
Customer Relations: you will be involved throughout the full process from first contact to the full kayaking experience. You will uphold the HAKC’s highest proven track record in being able to provide an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
Business Growth: you’ll seek opportunities to continue the growth of the young company through facility development, improving networks with local and foreign booking agents, develop the HAKC brand and improve the skills of your staff: the kayak Instructors.
Guiding Tours With Flexible Hours: as part of a growing team you will be required to guide guests on a variety of tours, including solo paddlers and large groups. You will be required to work flexible hours with some days commencing before the popular sunrise paddle and others concluding after sunset. There will also be weekend work.
Fleet Management: you will maintain the existing kayaks, canoes and equipment at it’s current high quality as well as seeking opportunities to expand the fleet and purchase new equipment within it’s budget. You will also be responsible for improved storage and management processes.
Marketing: by using both direct and indirect methods you will seek to promote the kayak center. This will include producing promotional material, managing social media accounts including the website, responding to inquiries online, via phone and in person, meeting with booking agents and other stakeholders to promote the services. You will also pro‐actively approach potential customers.
Supervision and administration: the job also requires a small amount of developing reports, updating a booking calendar, monitoring stock and other inventory, responding to e‐mails in a timely manner and supervising staff.
