Job Description:Responsible for the successful delivery of all new products and services (voice, data and core) to Operations in compliance with release planning guidelines and reliability standards. Manages all operations support documents and ensures that all applicable network management systems are integrated and tested prior to launch. Certifies that all reliability goals are met by reviewing design documents and augmenting the design and operator interfaces if required. Formalizes best practices across the region, and serves as a subject matter expert in network key performance indicators (KPIs).Minimum Required Skills / Competencies:Extensive knowledge of GSM 1900 wireless technology performance application and various platforms, including Ericsson, Nokia, Nortel, Tellabs, Alcatel/Spatial, Comverse, and ATM technology * Intermediate understanding of UMTS technology and network topology migration * In-depth knowledge of SS7 signaling networks and protocols, practical Data Translations and routing schemes, and transport architecture, equipment, and hierarchy * Strong skills in Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc. * Working knowledge of scripting and database programming skills to support data manipulation and post processing * Understands call processing, signaling, data translations, tracing, and protocol analysis techniques; understands interfaces and relationships between nodes relative to network performance * Ability to interpret all technical design aspects of a new product or service, to define and document processes, and to develop standards across diverse groups * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to evaluate system designs and incorporate operational requirements * Ability to validate engineering principles of a design * 5+ years Telecom experience, specifically in performance/operations. * 2+ years Experience in the wireless industry, including engineering and operations.Preferred skills:Sr Engineer, SystDesign & Strategy is seeking a Sr. Engineer to focus their attention on the Design and Implementation of VoIP routing, VoLTE/SRVCC and ICS. This Sr. Engineer will lead a cross functional team through the Design, Requirements, Development, Implementation and ongoing Engineering of the Core Network Elements associated with these services and architecture. The ideal candidate has a track record of bringing knowledge and experience to a large group of Engineers, and ensuring clear communication at every juncture. Responsibilities * Work with cross-functional teams to implement and support company initiatives * Develop quarterly and yearly individual and team goals that support the company objectives for the year * Write RFPs/RFIs/RFQs for new technology, standards and architecture and evaluate responses, present recommendations to peers and executive team * Determine and create designs to achieve optimum network fit and integration * Analyze and provide input on Product Development and Network Evolution and Strategy initiatives for all Core Network Elements * Drive Core Network architecture changes and evolution * Document technical capabilities, capacities, limitations and interfaces * Lead and transition new technology testing efforts to downstream teams * Conduct lab trials and evaluate multiple vendor products against 3GPP or OMA specs * Provide detailed feedback to Vendor and internal teams Qualifications * Excellent knowledge of SIP and VoIP protocols and routing * Knowledge in IMS/ICS, IP, WiFi, LTE, SR-VCC, VoLTE, ViLTE, Telecommunications, GSM technologies architectures and relevant protocols * Experience in IMS Design and/or Deployment * Experience in writing RFI/RFP/RFQ, evaluate answers and prepare summary * Experience in managing vendors and driving roadmap * Knowledge of TCP IP Protocols * Ability to understand and reference 3GPP and OMA specifications * Experience in working in large cross functional teamsShift / scheduled hours:Day shift / 8 hoursAbout TEKsystems:Join TEKsystems®, a leading IT staffing, IT talent management and IT services firm, and get your career on the fast track.
