Purpose Statement: Fabricates and assembles structural metal products such as framework or shells for machinery, ovens, tanks, and other machines with stainless steel for the food industry by layout and plans sequence of operations according to mechanical drawings and written and verbal instructions. Skilled within Mig and Tig welding. Maintain the plant's equipment, buildings and facilities. Provides technical trouble shooting skills regarding maintenance, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic engineering. With direction from the maintenance Planner and the maintenance Supervisor, ensures that the maintenance schedules are adhered to.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Tig welding, and Mig/Mag welding. Working from engineering drawings Fabricating - Cutting and shaping large stainless steel parts Able to discern correct welding applications. Learn production process. Ability to read and interpret shop/engineering drawings. Be active in preventative maintenance program, daily plant fundamentals and all safety procedures. Keeps abreast of latest manufacturing technologies and systems and engineering concepts. Performs other related responsibilities, as needed, to support La Brea’s Corporate business objectives. Works to maintain and improve on the quality, legality and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture. Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all times and reporting any potential contamination and suspicious activity to a Supervisor immediately. Required Experience Knowledge/Skills/Experience: HS degree or GED 3 years experience in a food manufacturing environment requiring knowledge of Tig welding, and Mig/Mag welding. Other skills and experiences could be refrigeration, plumbing, industrial electrical and mechanical systems and maintenance, and automated food manufacturing process controls and equipment Working knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation processes/procedures HACCP and sanitary design Demonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations to include product and associate safety, OSHA standards, product quality (success rates), cost control (minimizing downtime and waste, optimizing yield) Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems Demonstrated mechanical and spatial aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment Demonstrated ability to formulate and understand complex mathematical equations Proficient using Excel or other spreadsheet softwareDemonstrated ability to use CMMS Will be required to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, standing, climbing, reaching, stooping, pulling, pushing, grasping, and balancing as part of production activities out on the floor. Will be required to see and hear well enough to understand Associates questions and respond to their concerns. Will be required to work in freezers, near noisy machinery, near confined spaces as part of daily production activities. Physical Requirement: Will be required to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, standing, climbing, reaching, stooping, pulling, pushing, grasphing, and balancing as part of production activities out on the floor. Will be required to see and hear well enough to understand Associates questions and respond to their concerns. Will be required to work in freezers, near noisy machinery, near confined spaces as part of daily production activities.   Work hours: 3rd shift (Thurs/Fri) off 10pm - 6:30am
