Our client in the Mansfield, Ohio area is currently hiring several Mechanical Designers with sheet metal or heavy steel plate design knowledge. A candidate experienced designing large 3d structures may also be considered. Details below; these positions are Contract to Direct.  Mechanical Designer Responsibilities:Develop new products and redesign existing products for cost-efficient and manufacturing friendly designs.Prepare computer-aided design layouts, detail drawings and bills of materials as required.Support Engineers and Designers by maintaining parts, assemblies, Bills of Materials (BOMS) and corresponding drawings through Engineering Change Orders (ECO'S) for multiple product lines.Create manufacturing drawings from engineering 3-d models, update manufacturing drawings per engineering mark ups, and create Bill of Material's and design products with engineering guidance.Assist manufacturing in resolving issues that may occur on factory floor and test prototypes.Resolve engineering-related problems in manufacturing.Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standardsProvide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, and production support as-required.  Mechanical Designer Requirements:Associates Degree or Technical Schooling preferred.1-2 years plus related experience.3D Cad experience (Pro Engineer Creo, Solid Edge, Solid works, Microstation, etc.).Sheet metal, heavy steel plate part design, or design of large 3d structures (i.e., hydraulic systems, workbenches, or structural components, etc.).Experience with SmarTeam PDM software highly desired.
