Our range of services include solid waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling to approximately 2 million commercial, industrial and residential customers in 32 states. Waste Connections is now hiring for an Operations Manager in Vancouver, WA. In this position, you will be working at our Material Recovery Facilities (Recycling Center/Transfer Stations) located throughout Vancouver. We are looking for a strong leader to oversee approximately 20 employees. Equipment operating experience or mechanical experience is strongly preferred. Someone who feels comfortable working in a blue collar work environment and doing manual labor is a must. This is a hands-on supervisory position. General Summary: Key responsibilities include management of daily operations, supervision of staff, implementation of safety and compliance programs, staffing, and customer service along with operating equipment and doing labor work. Responsibilities of this position include: * Selecting, hiring, and training competent personnel. * Review and resolution of customer issues. * Planning and Scheduling. * Operations efficiency and equipment utilization. * Maintaining costs within a prescribed budget. * Interfacing with regulatory agencies and customers. The ideal candidate: * Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is strongly preferred. * 5 or more years of management experience. * Must possess excellent interpersonal skills. * Demonstrated experience managing in an operations environment. * Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and environmental regulations a plus.
