JOB TITLE: Senior Advisor-Global Technical ServicesJOB LOCATION: Houston, TexasJOB DUTIES: Position requires 24 hours per day and 7 days per week accessibility. Provide application expertise and any special technical data to Business Development, Training, External Customers and Operations to support the CYPHER service globally. Provide feedback to developers on new software and applications. Incorporate Reliability, HSE and Quality standards into job activities. Perform a geologic interpretation on unconventional assets; correlate well logs, build cross-sections, and generate structure maps from well logs. Determine sequence boundaries and depositional models integrating biostratigraphic data, seismic data and well logs. Interpret environments of deposition. Integrate rock units with seismic boundaries to develop advanced geologic frameworks for 3D geocellular models. Create detailed cross sections integrating image, core and seismic data. Create facies associations by identifying vertical and lateral relationships. Perform fault seal analysis where required. Analyze and interpret borehole image log data in vertical and horizontal wells for fracture and fault identification as well as stratigraphic information. Consolidate information from geophysics and petrophysics, sedimentology and engineering into the 3D geocellular model. Consolidate the structural, stratigraphic, lithologic and rock mechanical properties of the reservoir into a unified characterization of the asset. Analyze the output from the 3D geocellular model and draw relevant conclusions that are consistent both statistically and geologically. Identify the "sweet spots" within the reservoir using the geocellular model through the use of stochastic modeling and by accounting for uncertainty. Propose well targets based on this "sweet spot" identification. Use geosteering tools and horizontal well correlation tools to identify optimal zones in horizontal wells for completions and hydraulic fracturing. Interface with the engineers to design fracture simulation models and completion treatments using the geocellular model. Deliver and/or upscale the 3D property model to reservoir engineers for reservoir simulation modeling and history matching. Interact with company clients. Collaborate with geoscientists from client companies in building a consistent and acceptable integrated reservoir description. Periodically present work results to a varied audience of geoscientists, engineers and managers. Participate in multi-disciplinary technical peer reviews of 3D geocellular models and the conclusions that are drawn from these models. Identify deficiencies and make suggestions for improvement. Edit and merge inter-disciplinary document subsections into cohesive and internally consistent final reports. Up to 50% travel to client sites for work sessions, technical reviews and presentations.REQUIREMENTS: Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Geology or Geological Engineering and 2 years of progressive experience in reservoir and production geology. Alternatively, the company will also accept a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Geology or Geological Engineering and 5 years of progressive experience in reservoir and production geology. Must have experience with the following:•Building complex geologic frameworks including; faulting, intrusions, unconformities and stratigraphic pinch-outs;•Performing a petrophysical analysis; •Cluster analysis for determining rock facies and rock mechanical properties;•Basic logging techniques and interpretation to facilitate recommendations concerning logging programs;•Basic reservoir engineering i.e. basic phases of hydrocarbons in the reservoir using gridded earth model’s; •3D Geocellular modeling software; and •Basin modeling software and petroleum systems software.Halliburton is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.Job Code: S401-ESG
