The Sr. Educator in the Center for Training and Development (CTD) will be responsible to determine, develop, coordinate, promote, present and evaluate programs designed for the staff in the Emergency Department. Educators work collaboratively with directors/managers, staff and other inputs to determine training and development needs. Educators participate in committees, councils and other activities that require a member of the CTD to be in attendance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conducts annual needs assessment and utilizes inputs from various sources when determining the programming for Emergency Department staff. Considers strategic initiatives and hospital goals and objectives when planning calendar. Creates or coordinates training and development opportunities for the Emergency Department Staff based on inputs through a systematic process of developing goals, objectives and utilizing current resources and best practice guidelines. Utilizes sound adult learning principles when preparing and presenting programs. Is able to select the appropriate methodology for delivery of presentation. Evaluates programs and implements changes based on feedback. Attends to details necessary for the success of programming such as timely room set-up, IS requests, handouts etc. Coordinates orientation for Emergency Department staff. Keeps all materials current and up to date. Provides a positive environment for new staff that is conducive to learning. Manages NetLearning. Serves as a resource for technical and application aspects of NetLearning, trains and supports system users. Creates CBL modules, reviews and approves CBL’s from outside of the CTD. Maintains and runs reports from database. Consistently seeks out new projects and activities for the Emergency Department. Demonstrates motivation and innovation in programming. Utilizes critical thinking skills when addressing issues. Serves as a mentor and resource person to Emergency Department employees. Maintains positive relations with vendors and represents the CTD in a professional manner at all times. Offers assistance with career counseling for staff members in the Emergency Department offering information about college programs and tuition reimbursement. Strives to make all interactions with staff professional and meaningful. Acts as a role model of service excellence for all staff. Identifies and implements opportunities for cost savings for the department and organization. Demonstrates excellent communication skills intra- and interdepartmentally. Seeks continuous opportunities for professional growth. Maintains licensure and necessary certifications.
