JOB TITLE:Senior Powertrain Staff EngineerTHE CHALLENGE: Sterling Engineering is assisting a premier client in their search for a Senior Powertrain Staff Engineer. This is a Direct Hire opportunity located within Michigan City, IN. The ideal candidate will have Strong aptitude in Diesel Engine Design, Fuel Systems Design and Exhaust Systems Design.THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:• This position will be responsible to technically lead the Powertrain Engineering group on all aspects of Electric Motor, Diesel Engine, Fuel System and Exhaust development and design.  • Provide Staff or Senior Level Support on all aspects of New Product Development, Design Review, dFMEA’s, DVP&R’s, DRD’s, EMOC, etc. for Powertrain, Fuel and Exhaust.• Provide direct leadership of activities for all Powertrain Designers while balancing Program Timing vs current deliverables.  • Work cross functionally with all other organization groups to ensure on-time delivery of New Product Development programs while meeting product target costs.  • Self-starter should be able to multitask and plan/prioritize the workload in order to meet project time constraints. • Must have analytical skills to evaluate data and resolve design issues. REQUIREMENTS:• 4 Year Degree in Engineering or Technology in (Mechanical/Automotive).  Advanced Degree highly preferred (MS/MBA).• Highly skilled in UG NX and Team Center.• Strong aptitude in Diesel Engine Design, Fuel Systems Design and Exhaust Systems Design.• Highly familiar with Electric Motor design and application.• Exceptional team skills with ability to communicate up as well as across the organization. • Fully developed professional able to work without direct guidance or direction from others. • Work experience in the mechanical design of components for rotating or reciprocating machinery such as engines or compressors a plus. • Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem solving skills.CONTACT: AN-DENISE MCBRIDETechnical Recruiter P: 630-993-3438 | E: [Click Here to Email Your Resumé]Visit our website | Connect on LinkedIn | Corporate Office: Two Westbrook Corporate Center.
