ABOUT THE BUSINESS: Key Technology and Operations (KTO) provides efficient, reliable and secure technology, operational, and servicing functions to support business partners and clients across Key. It creates an effective variable cost technology delivery model that maximizes the return on IT spend and orchestrates the efficient use of corporate information and technology assets while supporting innovation that creates competitive distinction. Performing with minimal supervision, timely and accurate processing of (1) global income payments and the management of foreign tax withholding reclaims for global securities, and (2) dividend payments and withholding reclaims for American Depository Receipts (ADRs) held in client accounts. Manages daily processing flow, analyzing depository and sub-custodian documents, making depository elections, updating foreign dividend events, and posting client payments in a timely basis. Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem resolution skills are critical to succeeding in this position. Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of ADR dividend payments and reclaims. Analyzes depositary documents and completes necessary filings to maximize client foreign withholding reclaims. Corresponds with KeyBank trust officers to collect the necessary supporting documentation. On payable date, updates foreign dividend events to reflect individual foreign withholding status of our trust clients, balances to our depository’s cash payment, and releases payments to client accounts. Processes online cash transactions as necessary to post reclaim payments to client accounts. Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of global dividend and interest payments. Manages global tax & account sub-custodial document process to maximize client foreign withholding reclaims. Corresponds with KeyBank trust officers to collect the necessary supporting documentation. Maintains departmental check log, managing incoming checks, logging checks to our internal log, and distributing copies to appropriate team members. Receives transaction instructions and announcements from customers, advisors, agents, vendors, and other sources. Analyzes information received and performs a variety of accounting, control, and processing functions leveraging knowledge of generally acceptable accounting principals and securities industry procedures to properly accomplish underlying transactions. Responsible for desk backup for the Corporate Action Class Action and Bond Redemption/Maturity functions. Resolves exceptions resulting from internal processing to affect accounting entries in a timely and accurate manner, while limiting liability to bank. Maintains detailed, accurate, and organized work files. Reviews work processes for opportunities for improvement. Initiates, develops, and implements process improvement. Cross-trains on other unit desks to expand knowledge base and to assist with open desk coverage. Four-year degree in business with a concentration in finance, accounting or management or related work experience. Industry experience or related analytical work experience is helpful. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Strong detail focus. Ability to learn detailed processes quickly and function independently with limited supervision.
