In Nokia's Patenting organisation we employ a global team of patent professionals.  At this fascinating time in the company's history there is an opportunity for an experienced patent professional to join Nokia Technologies as a member of the Products team in the Patenting organisation.  The team has around 15 team members located at multiple sites around the world and manages a portfolio of thousands of patent families. As an IP Specialist or Senior IP Specialist, you will work to strengthen our world class patent portfolio and help to increase the value that Nokia can derive from its portfolio through licensing and commercialisation. You will be expected to work with R&D employees across the world to seek out Nokia's best inventions in the technology areas covered by the Products team, which include user interface and hardware development.  In particular you will have responsibility for working with one or more teams of engineers and designers in Sunnyvale, California to evaluate inventions for patentability. You will handle the entire patenting process from when an invention is first created to when it is granted as a patent, including working with a global network of external patent attorneys to secure protection across the world for the inventions in your assigned portfolio. In parallel with the formal patenting process you will work to identify the relevance of Nokia's portfolio to third party product implementations or Nokia's business plans as appropriate. The IP Specialist or Senior IP Specialist role will be based in Sunnyvale, California.
