(New York)  Client is a diversified global reinsurer offering financial strength and deep capacity.  Client has transitioned a role from overseas to NYC in order to more fully support the CFO for the Reinsurance Segment.  Client Seeks a VP of Financial Reporting and Analysis.  Compensation is open but gravitating to the $160,000 - $180,000 range plus bonus. All in, the role is expected to be in the $190,000 - $215,000 range.  A fuller job description is below:     VP, Financial Reporting and Analysis:   As a Vice President – financial reporting & analysis in the Reinsurance Segment Finance, this person is responsible for the quarterly internal financial analysis and planning process within the Reinsurance Segment.  The key to success for this person will be to manage a timely delivery of services, driving change and innovation across the financial planning and analysis function culminating in a predictable and automated process, enhanced productivity and analysis.   Duties and Responsibilities:   Works with controller to proactively monitors trends to identify risks and opportunities across key revenue and expense categories. Establishes benchmarks and scorecards to assist leadership in managing the fiscal discipline of their functions. Facilitates root cause analysis and solutions identification. Presents solutions and timelines to executive teams when large scale change or trade-offs are identified. Comfortable working and communication with Reinsurance senior leadership, bringing financial solutions and strategic thinking to drive short-term and long-term goals and objectives based on financial analysis. Enhance segment –wide planning process including the accumulation of underwriting data by classification hierarchy / region and developing analysis which clearly communicates the significant drivers of the plan to senior leadership Prepares internal presentation which is used to communicate the quarterly results of the segment to the various offices Prepares quarterly internal MD&A and internal supplementary schedules which clearly communicate the various items driving the Segment’s results.  In addition, prepares analysis that explains variances against prior year results and Plan Prepares quarterly general & administrative expense analysis which explains significant variances against prior year results and Plan.  Communicates results of analysis to all business unit heads. Coordination with assistant controller to ensure financial analysis includes all variables. Keep abreast of US GAAP and US statutory accounting guidance and communicate changes to business owner, when applicable.     Education/Experience:   Minimum 7 years’ experience; CPA 4-year degree in accounting (or equivalent education and experience). Reinsurance experienced, preferred Advanced knowledge of Reinsurance GAAP and STAT accounting principles and other regulatory requirements with an ability to apply that knowledge to both practical and theoretical situations. Ability to anticipate accounting, financial reporting and operational issues, assess their implications, determine their impact and develop and implement an appropriate action plan. Written and verbal skills. Strong presentation skills.
