This is an opportunity to join an organization poised for growth with solid sales and an expanding production capacity, in a role w/ full operational/commercial control, as well as full P&L responsibility. The preferred candidate for this role will have a strong technical background in specialty chemical and/or oil and gas continuous (reactor/distillation) processing environments. The ideal candidate will also have had success in expanding product portfolios thru effective asset utilization, and knowledge of toll manufacturing agreements, so as to aid in establishing new products in the marketplace. Established in 1988, the company produces a number of enhanced and specialty performance aromatic monomers at the home manufacturing facility. With plants in both the US and several locations abroad, the company also manufactures high quality resins, insulating varnishes, and specialty polymers. Vice President / General Manager Key Responsibilities: Plan, develop and implement strategy for monomer business and operations so as to meet agreed organizational performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales covering relevant areas of operations, engineering, sales, purchasing, distribution, quality, and administration. Monitor, measure, and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans. General Manager manages and controls business capital and expenditures. Establish and maintain price targets and discipline. Plan, manage and negotiate major raw material and energy purchases. Establish basis for annual budgets. Develop production schedule which meets short and long term sales forecasts. Ensure business and operation activities meet requirements for quality management, health and safety, environmental, and security policies. Recruit, manage, motivate and develop business team direct reports. Job Requirements: Minimum BS Chemical Engineering. 15-20 years P&L experience in managing a chemical business or plant site. Good working familiarity of catalytic reactors and distillation. Experience managing at least eight or more direct reports. Demonstrated understanding of P&L and other financial statements. Sales and marketing management experience. Understanding of fundamentals of pricing policy, price stewardship, and valued pricing. Experience negotiating major contracts. Good communication skills.
