SUMMARY:Under the direction of the Application Development Manager, the Business Systems Analyst (SAP) is responsible for the support and enhancement of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) applications. The Business Systems Analyst (SAP) works with functional users and business process owners to develop and document effective procedures and processes. The Business Systems Analyst (SAP) also works with project implementation teams and technical staff to make configuration changes, design customizations and develop and run queries and reports. Additionally, the Business Systems Analyst (SAP) participates in data conversion and analysis, supports Extract Transform Load (ETL) activities, develops test plans and performs system and integration testing. Other essential duties of the Business Systems Analyst (SAP) position include, but are not limited to, the following:EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:Essential Functions• Analyzes and documents operational requirements, procedures, inputs, outputs, system access restrictions and problems in conjunction with ERP/EAM implementation teams and functional unit process owners.• Utilizes detailed knowledge of the SAP system’s functional capabilities to assist with the development and documentation of effective technical and operational processes, functions and procedures with respect to the ERP/EAM system.• Makes configuration changes on SAP Screens and other objects, and performs comprehensive testing to ensure that the improvements work without adverse side effects.• Serves as the main liaison between third party implementation staff, MTS departmental staff and IT staff to analyze, design, configure, test and maintain application extensions, reports and interfaces between ERP, EAM and other MTS systems.• Analyzes complex operational problems involving ERP/EAM system modules and develops appropriate solutions.• Performs unit, integration and regression testing of patches or upgrades to ERP and EAM system modules. • Provides technical assistance to users and technical staff with respect to ERP and EAM systems. • Undertakes ERP and EAM training and trains, coaches and mentors users and technical staff on ERP and EAM and related matters.• Participates in the conversion of legacy data to the SAP ERP/EAM systemDuties May Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following:• Creates and maintains procedural manuals.• Coordinates meetings of the ERP and EAM teams.• Effectively communicates product functionality and features to technical staff, functional users and laypersons, and describes how they are used to support business activities.• Answers technical and functional questions about ERP and EAM.• Performs other duties as assigned.DISCLAIMER: The above described job elements are intended to indicate the general nature and levels of work being performed by employees assigned to the job.
