1. Engages individuals and families in a welcoming, hopeful, empathetic manner regardless of stage of readiness and phase of treatment.2. Assigns and supervises the caseload of direct reports staff. Assists staff as required to manage caseload efficiently. 3. Reviews cases to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of services rendered. Conducts staff meetings to review strengths, outcomes, problem areas and plan solutions.4. Assists staff in improving and updating professional skills by providing them with information such as pertinent conferences and seminars, new techniques in the field and current and pending legislation affecting mental health services. Orients, trains, and develops new staff.5. Monitors case records, including signatures, and follow up and referral of individuals to community agencies to aid in an accurate history. Ensures that paperwork is maintained in accordance with Medicaid & DCH, & Easter Seals guidelines, policies, and procedures.6. Screen for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Implement integrated strength based assessments to assess the presence, onset, symptoms and patterns of substance use, behavioral and psychiatric disorders. Assess for acute needs and risk and provide/arrange for appropriate stage wise intervention. In the presence of two disorders, evaluation will be made of the interaction between the two, as well as the relationship of each to significant life events. Demonstrate the knowledge of diagnostic criteria for psychiatric and substance use disorders. 7. Demonstrate the ability to identify stage of change and use interventions consistent with stage of treatment. Assist staff in developing strength-based, stage wise treatment matched person centered plans that are designed to address identified individual needs. Able to provide resources for integrated treatment including self-help and peer support.8. Model and use the Spirit of Motivational Interviewing in all interactions with staff, individuals and stakeholders.9. Provides outcome and strength based supervision to staff utilizing a range of supervision techniques to foster professional development and performance, develop skill sets and increase individual outcomes. Conduct clinical case reviews that are competency based, strength based, culturally relevant and focus on improving client outcomes. (i.e. utilize motivational interviewing with staff-direct, follow, and guide approach). 10. Familiar with a variety of outcome measures for psychiatric and co-occurring substance use, medical or other disorders. Able to utilize outcome measurements in supervision and with person centered planning. 11. Provide support, education, and reinforce the use of prescribed medications to treat substance use and mental health disorders. 12. May also be responsible for the coordination of specific programs and projects as assigned.13. Acts as a liaison with community agencies and substance use and mental health service providers, maintaining an awareness of the full range of human services available in the community that may be appropriate for client needs.14. Instructs, assigns, schedules, checks and appraises performance. Hires, recommends disciplinary action and discharge, and recommends pay increases and/or promotions. 15. Responsible for authorizing medically necessary services for all consumers.16. Monitors Staff's caseload to ensure implementation of approved Evidence Based and best practices.17. Demonstrates knowledge of principles of trauma informed care. 18. Willingness to support and assist consumers with trauma related issues. 19. Provides supervision in accordance with the Individual and Clinical Supervisory Guidelines for the position.20. Works with staff to ensure that the productivity of direct services to individuals served is maintained based on KPI's associated with positions supervised.21. Completes the Supervisor Service Questionnaire (2 per staff per month). 22. Performs all job duties and completes paperwork in accordance with Medicaid Verification requirements and guidelines.
