This is a 100% CAREER position with the UC Davis Health System, Department of Information Technology, Information and Communication Services located in SACRAMENTO, CA. Working hours are M-F, 8-5OPEN UNTIL FILLED.  INTERIVEWS MAY BE HELD AFTER 2/10/15.THIS IS NOT AN H-1B OPPORTUNITY Reporting to the Client Services Supervisor, this position is for a Desktop Engineer with the Client Services group. The Desktop Engineer is a recognized subject matter expert in the support and maintenance of the Windows and Macintosh Desktop operating systems. Provides support, implementation, integration and design services for Windows and Macintosh based client and server systems across the enterprise. This support includes e-mail, remote access, phone and onsite. The Desktop Engineer also addresses advanced customer support and service requests and acts as an escalation for a variety of client OS and network support issues. The position applies new solutions through research and collaboration with team and determines the proper course of action for new service and application initiatives implementing them as required by the business. The core infrastructure technology duties include building and maintaining desktop operating system images, testing OS updates and patches, and top-level support for enterprise-wide initiatives--Extensive experience with Macintosh and Windows workstation image creation, deployment and maintenance.
