Job ID: 2745Position Description: The Director - Center of Excellence (COE) Financial and Member Succession provides leadership to the Growth Center of Excellence Financial team which includes the development of the COE Financial functional area, defining the goals and objectives for the Financial team, and ensuring deliverables support member's attainment of retail excellence. The COE- Financial leader leads the development of programs/processes, business tools, training programs and execution of activities within the following Financial areas: leadership and governance, best practices and training, team collaboration and sharing, technology and enablement. The Director ensures the Financial team always takes the lead role as the SME in matters of financial analysis, loan structuring and financial consulting. May be called upon to engage with the co-ops key, strategic, larger or more complex retailers in a consultative and advisory role to develop long-term strategies. The Director will identify, research and promote financial service providers, banks and financial support for members. The Director develops and leads the successions/store for sale management function.Position Requirements:Lead the development of the COE – Financial area which includes the development of the team infrastructure, governance parameters, processes and operational objectives. Once developed, the position is responsible for managing, training and leading a team of Financial Business Advisors to maximize their individual performance and ensure continuing alignment with organizational goals. Lead the ongoing effort to investigate, assess, develop and implement COE - Financial best-practices, effective use of financial technologies, meaningful and insightful analytics and ensure that the overall knowledge of the team and growth organization is enhanced regarding the COE's role.Ensure that COE supports retailers attainment of retail excellence including consulting with existing and prospective retailers on a variety of financial, operational and management issues. Evaluating and advising retailers on how to improve the profitability, cash flow and growth opportunities of their businesses. Develop creative and customized financial solutions or restructurings for retailers to address lending and capital financial impediments. Negotiate with banks, lenders, lessors on behalf of True Value retailers to optimize financial structures, loans and rates. Advise retailers on financing solutions for growth, expansion, and remodel projects. In collaboration with Growth, and Finance/Credit Services and Legal professionals, develop strategies to address retailer needs and problems relative to at-risk or challenged members, new store, branch stores or remodel projects, store succession issues, stores for sale, prospective retailers, and other revenue-generating opportunities and impediments, focusing on the best management practices and financial support.Develop business tools, business models, and conduct seminars and training for retailers and associates on financial management and financial best practices. Identify and promote financial service providers and lending sources for retailers. Own (with collaboration) the appropriate chapters within the Retail Playbook to drive best in class standard operating procedures for retailers in the Financial area. Responsible for developing the content and maintaining its accuracy and currency.Act as an advisor to Sr Mgmt. on the Capex Committee on the financial feasibility of investment projects and conduct enhanced analysis' and field visits as requested by the Capex Committee. Serve on the Retail Growth Committee assessing the over-all feasibility of growth and remodel projects with an emphasis on and responsibility for the financial aspects of the projects. Serve on DTV Finance committee to financially qualify retailers and structure transactions to maximize the probability of the projects' success.Lead and facilitate regular communication and collaboration with Finance leadership and other departments.
