Gannett’s Indiana Financial Team seeks a Senior Financial Analyst. This role is responsible for providing relevant, accurate and timely financial analysis in support of our business units. The Senior Financial Analyst services the Regional Finance Directors and business units as needed. Initially, the Senior Financial Analyst will be integral in the development of standardized financial reports that can be used across all locations. In all phases of the hub’s evolution, the Senior Financial Analyst provides direct support to the hub and business units that includes, but is not limited to, weekly, quarterly and annual forecasting, annual budgeting, capital planning, ad hoc analysis, revenue trending, fulfillment of group and divisional requests. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for accurate and timely analytical reports and strong customer service both for the hub and the business unit Performs complex financial planning and analysis, including forecasting, annual budgeting, capital planning and ad hoc P&Ls. Fulfills group/divisional requests for the Financial Analyst Manager and Regional Finance Director. Tracks financial status by monitoring variances from plan. Determines financial status by comparing and analyzing plans and forecasts with actual results. Improves financial status by analyzing results and variances; identifying trends; recommending actions. Investigates variances to expected results and provides explanations. Provides information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations. Increases productivity by developing automated applications; eliminating duplications; coordinating information requirements. Mentors and assists with the training of hub Financial Analysts REQUIREMENTS Business degree (BS or MBA) with 4+ years of financial analysis experience or comparable work experience Strong organizational and problem solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal and external stakeholders Experience in a consolidated financial environment Knowledge of BPC, EDMS (Publishing), Wide Orbit (Broadcast) Financial analysis and planning prowess - Ability to provide data but also analyze it for accuracy, trends and recommendations for change Proficient in both advertising /circulation revenue analysis and financial statement analysis Passion for results Customer/client orientation This role has responsibilities to support multiple sites in the Indiana Interstate.
