As part of this mission, we are dedicated to growing our technology team to evolve our back-office to support increasing levels of engagement with our customers. We are searching for a Senior Java Software Developer that will play a key role towards this goal. This person will contribute to the expansion of our middleware platform as new products emerge and existing systems evolve. He/she will be asked to Design, develop and maintain applications and related technologies in support of the organization's video, telephony and HSD platforms for residential, commercial and enterprise subscribers.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain JEE modules, as well as Perl & PHP applications, for the organization's middleware platform and OSS/BSS toolsContribute productively to a fast paced agile/scrum software development team - (daily standups, code reviews, task estimation, unit testing, continuous integration, short bursts of delivery)Work with Product team or Operations team stakeholders to understand and capture project requirementsWork with the Manager of Integration to balance project delivery requirements amidst operational issues.Continuously improve, refine and refactor the code base. A solid foundation in the basics of software development including object-oriented design, debugging, unit testing, and continuous integration is desired.Ideal candidates will have 2 of the 3 following skillsets (Spring, Hibernate, and/or Web Services (SOAP and/or Restful))Can help with technical design & architecture but balancing that with the primary role of deliveryFamiliarity consuming and producing web services and enterprise integration concepts in a JBOSS environment (SOA) environmentKnowledge of continuous integration technologies (Maven, Jenkins, Sonar)Ability to use and debug applications running on a Linux operating system (Redhat)Unit Testing (variations on JUnit)Experience:7+ years of production software development experienceGood written and verbal communication skillsWorking knowledge of building extensible back-end application frameworks.Good understanding of web application development using HTTP REST, software standards, software development life cycle and methodologies.Demonstrated experience with integrating 3rd party APIs into existing JEE applications (web services, CORBA, RMI, OSS/J)Working knowledge of Web Applications in Client Server environment.Direct experience with developing a web services messaging and business logic layer (SOAP and RESTful) and familiarity with WSDL's, JSON, and XML.Mid-Level knowledge of DB SQL Skills in a Modern Relational DB (mysql, oracle, postgres, BerkleyDB, etc.) - design and developmentAbout TEKsystems:Join TEKsystems®, a leading IT staffing, IT talent management and IT services firm, and get your career on the fast track.
