This position is open as of 1/18/2015.Vice President of EngineeringIf you are a Vice President of Engineering with experience, please read on!What You Will Be DoingThis executive position, reporting to the CEO, will be based in Palo Alto, CA and is responsible for managing all aspects of product and platform engineering and infrastructure from concept, design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing operations. Additionally, the VP of Engineering will lead the technology and data strategy to ensure services are competitively differentiated, technology is contemporary, and supports efficient integrations with other enterprise software and systems. The role should foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, professionalism, quality, and engineering excellence. • Encourage and promote creative thinking and problem solving as well as career development across the engineering organization. • Constantly improve the development process. Implement and sustain agile methodology for execution. • Manage and mentor the engineering and infrastructure teams at the strategic and day-to-day level. • Work with the team on platform architecture and development activities while maintaining product quality, timelines and budget • Understand business domain models and translate to engineering architecture, design and development activities. • Foster and maintain close working relationships with all departments, especially professional services, operations, sales and data services as well as enterprise client contacts as appropriate. • Facilitate collaboration between your product development group, and business stakeholders. Lead strategic product roadmap and architecture planning. • Serve as a key member of the management team and work on setting platform engineering and infrastructure direction. • Ensure customer requirements are accomplished in engineering, including integration and collaboration with internal and external entities for platform and customer success. • Maintain transparency by broadly communicating performance, architecture, goals and progress on deployments. • Communicate and educate the business on engineering tactics around critical product and technology areas, security threats, industry trends, etc. • Manage a world class infrastructure and be responsible for deployment, uptime, security and data/systems integrity • Work with third-party vendors and service providers for hosting, security, integration and other services. • Lead and manage the PCI process for Level 1 compliance on an ongoing basis.What You Need for this PositionRequirements: • Degree in computer engineering, computer science or related disciplines • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior role and 10+ years of engineering experience • Excellent knowledge of Ruby language and Rails framework • Understand building and management of API services • Hands-on with Linux OS and cloud infrastructures like AWS, Open Stack or Azure • Strong working knowledge of object storage, CDNs, networking and storage technologies • Good understanding and working knowledge of distributed systems, algorithms and scalability requirements • Understanding and working knowledge of advanced MySQL, master-master replication, • Working knowledge of web technologies and specifications – HTML, CSS, JavaScript • Understanding and experience of secure coding practices and infrastructure security for PCI Level 1 audit compliance • Excellent written and verbal English communications • Expertise with multiple Enterprise systems for both ERP or CRM like Oracle, SAP, and Salesforce • Strong manager and coach with service-oriented attitude and customer focus • Thrives on working in an dynamic fast-paced environment Key Words: - Ruby on Rails - API Services - Linux - MySQL - AWS - openStack - Azure - HTML - CSS - CDN-networking and storage technologies - JavaScript - PCI compliance - Enterprise Systems for ERP or CRM (Oracle, SAP, Salesforce)What's In It for YouPhenomenal benefits package!
