Category:  Professional (Non-Nursing) Facility:  Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital Department:  Eskenazi Institute for Employee Development Shift:  Days Hours:   JOB SUMMARY: The Training and Development Facilitator is responsible for the following essential job functions: Provides information, directs structured learning experiences, manages group discussions and group processes Identifies and utilizes appropriate methods of instruction with an emphasis on adult learning techniques Responsible for assessment, planning, organization, implementation and measurement of all education and skill development programs of the department, ensuring competencies and best practices for all levels of staff through course development and delivery Facilitates, develops and implements training programs to ensure achievement of hospital strategic initiatives and departmental goals Ensures programs are in place to meet regulatory requirements, strategic initiatives and support PI needs Provides consultative expertise regarding development and/or assessment of departmental competency programs based on the organizational model, specifically regarding employee orientation and development programs and program evaluation Effectively manages resources to include time management, prioritizing workload, planning and scheduling Demonstrates effectiveness regarding communication, instructional design and presentation skills In collaboration with the Manager of The Eskenazi Health Institute for Employee Development and appropriate Department Heads, ensures program outcomes and established goals for employees and departments are met Confers with leadership to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies Formulates teaching outlines and determines instructional methods Designs teaching aids Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc. Assesses trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness training Reports on progress of employees under guidance during training periods Provides professional training climate during and after instruction and assesses learner performance through evaluative processes Assists with written reports and statistics on the performance of the staff for use in evaluations and to determine departmental education needs
