Disaster Recovery SpecialistThe Intersect Group is looking for a highly-motivated IT Disaster Recovery Specialist for our premier retail client based in DFW. This individual will lead and govern the IT response to unplanned calamitous events that materially impair our client’s ability to deliver all or a portion of our business services to our internal and/or external customers. Responsibilities: Developing and maintaining an IT Disaster Recovery Plan. Maintaining DR classification of business applications and systems. Performing DR coordination activities associated with planning and executing IT recovery exercises. Performing DR coordination and IT crisis management activities in the event of an unplanned calamitous event. Owning the responsibilities for partnering with technical and applications teams as needed to maintain Disaster Recovery procedures, scripts, plans and documentation. Evaluating and reporting on IT DR capabilities of the organization on a regular basis. Managing and coordinating IT DR exercise testing schedule. Driving efficiencies in the IT Disaster Recovery processes. Developing the IT strategy for Disaster Recovery within the organizational BCP program. Working closely with various technical teams, vendor partners and business leadership to maintain and improve BCP and Disaster Recovery practices. Leading DR strategy evaluations/assessments that result in solution proposals as a part of the IT DR improvement initiatives.Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required Minimum of 10 years of IT/Infrastructure experience with operational understanding of Mainframes, distributed servers, storage, backup/recovery, networking, IT security, databases and delivery of business applications. Proven skills in leading the planning and execution of IT Disaster Recovery test exercises. Demonstrated success in designing, implementing and maintaining an IT Disaster Recovery program. Outstanding written and verbal communications skills that lend to producing DR testing plans and post-test reporting, solution proposals and improvement recommendations. Proven ability to lead the IT crisis management response in the event of calamitous or pandemic threats. Experience in using the Sungard Living Disaster Recovery Planning System (LDRPS) solution.
