This position is responsible for managing a team of product managers and engineers while acting as a subject matter expert for fiber optic systems and applications. This individual will develop long-term growth strategies for assigned product lines based upon research of market / technology trends, industry standards development, competitive activity, and gaps within Siemon’s product offering on global basis. This position is expected to achieve profitable growth of assigned product lines and apply fundamental product management skills to increase sales and gross margin which includes quantifying addressable market demand and setting sales targets, rationalizing product lines, analyzing and setting pricing using a channel-based approach, and recommending an inventory plan to support expected demand. This position is also responsible for developing and sustaining Siemon’s fiber optic technology leadership position by guiding Siemon fiber optic system specifications to ensure innovation and compliance to standards, applications, and customer requirements. This individual will provide applications research, support, and strategic direction related to fiber optics. This position is responsible for supporting global sales to win and maintain key customers for fiber optic products, to drive optimal product mix, and representing Siemon at marketing events and industry standards organizations. A key role related to this responsibility is staying current on competitor offerings and strategies and developing sales support tools that leverage Siemon strengths compared to competitor solutions.
