Purchasing Services Director – Relationship Driven & Decentralized CultureFor the experienced Purchasing Services Director of purchasing and contract teams, this is an outstanding opportunity to join a diverse, decentralized, and intriguing research and educational institution, contributing greatly to our mission. In this multi-faceted leadership role, you will utilize your relationship building abilities and technical acumen to build trust and healthy professional relationships in a decentralized environment, securing favorable agreements with diverse internal populations and suppliers.  This position is also charged with executing upon an exciting and transformative business plan, optimizing procurement processes, procedures and reporting.The Director will need to have a thorough understanding of finances, budgets, accruals, fixed assets, capital equipment and the month end close process. The Director will develop policies and procedures to establish and maintain legal compliance, financial accountability, physical control and effective resource utilization in delivering high quality services to constituent groups. The Director represents the University in negotiations or awarding contracts with authority to obligate physical and financial resources, as delegated by the CPO.Stanford University is one of Silicon Valley's largest and unique employers.
