Asbury Park Press, a Gannett Company, is a dynamic media organization and the leader in delivering engaging news, information and entertainment in New Jersey. We are seeking a Regional Producer. This person provides advanced packaging and presentation across all platforms. Manages the delivery of content to digital and print platforms and meets deadlines. Works with planning editor, reporters, and photographers to best display content on all platforms, using a high level of judgement and creativity. Collaborates with engagement editors to maximize social media presence. Copy edits content before publishing to digital platforms or handing off to a design studio.  Main Function: Copyedits and content-finishes stories for print and digital platforms utilizing content optimization best practices that drive reader engagement and metric growth. Directs the flow of content, sending breaking news emails and push alerts, adding meta-data information, hyperlinks, images, info boxes, and additional digital content. Write digital headlines and summarizes, taking into account SEO and key word elements. Typical Job Duties: Edits, writes headline and prepares stories for SEO. Prepares and delivers content to all delivery platform guided by data analysis and audience feedback. Requirements: Requires a minimum of 3 years copy-editing/desk experience on a daily newspaper or similar media outlet. Must be detail oriented and well organized with the ability to handle multople issues. Requires an understanding of SEO, CCI and Presto. Must have the ability to write clear, short web heads utilizing AP and Press styles. Advanced knowledge of social media and how to engage fan base on digital platforms in the public space. Bachelor's in Communications, Journalism or equivalent in experience and education. News often requires employees to work extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays, sometimes unexpectedly. Able to multi-task and excel under intense deadline pressure in a rapidly changing environment. Works collaboratively within a cross-functional environment.
