SYSTEMS ENGINEER JOB SPECIFICATIONS: The Systems Engineer is responsible for the Technical Implementation of assigned programs as well as Requirements Elicitation and the development of the system and subsystem requirements.  The Systems Engineer will also oversee the preliminary and critical designs, develop test plans and procedures, conduct engineering test and evaluation of the system, and write test reports that accept the system that was built to the requirements.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: •         Determine test objectives and data requirements; writes test plans/procedures, assists in test scheduling, oversees and assists in test execution, analyzes resultant test data, and documents results in test reports.•         Directly interfaces with internal and external customers at all levels; acts as a liaison for test activities, design reviews, and technical meetings to comply with project requirements.•         Assists developmental engineering project designs.•         Coordinates closely with Project Managers in cost, scheduling, and performance.•         Maintains technical project responsibility for assigned tests and advises management of programs progress.  •         Performs other duties and assignments as directed.EDUCATION and TECHNICAL WORK EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering for an accredited academic institution and 8 years of related engineering experience or an accredited Master of Science Degree in Engineering and 6 years related engineering experience or have an accredited degree in Systems Engineering and 8 years related Systems Engineering experience.  The incumbent must have comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principals, and practices of engineering to successfully manage the technical implementation of complex engineering projects.  The position requires the incumbent to have working knowledge of telecommunications and broadband networking.  The incumbent must possess well developed leadership and communication skills.  Incumbent will be required qualify for and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and must have a valid, current state drivers license.  Routine travel to remote locations is required.
