The most important role for the person in this position is to assure the accuracy of the income tax reporting within the Company’s audited financial statements and related filings with the SEC (e.g., quarterly Form 10-Qs and annual Form 10-Ks). The focus of this role includes not only making proper and accurate calculations for these filings which are consistent with existing guidance, but also assuring all tax-related information is correctly and completely presented in the financial statements and disclosed in the footnotes. Another key role of the person in this position is to assist the SVP Tax with the tax-related aspects of the Company’s acquisition and merger targets. The person in this position will assume the primary responsibility for those potential acquisition targets assigned by the SVP Tax. In that role, this person will be responsible for all tax aspects of structuring, due diligence, and coordinating the drafting of the income tax aspects of the purchase agreements.
