We are DFA-the premium provider of market opportunities for farmers and a value-added supplier of innovative dairy products and food components for customers around the world.General Purpose:Lead and direct the work of Bulk Tank Driver activities based out of DFA’s Smithfield Terminal. Provide support, problem-solving, and oversight. Communicate any problems or needs with management in a timely manner.Duties and Responsibilities:Promotes a safety conscious work environmentTrain and coach new and existing drivers in areas of safety, customer service and efficiencyProvide supervisors with operational supportOperates a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations and policies adhering to all safety practices.Loads and transports raw milk.Follows dispatch schedule and directions from dispatch and supervisory personnel.Takes quality and control samples at farmMeasures milk loaded into trailerFollows designated routes and schedules unless otherwise directed by supervisory personnelTakes steps to minimize truck idle times and conserve fuel consumptionMaintains positive communications with producers, listens for issues or potential problems, reports producers’ comments to transportation and member services managementRepresents DFA positively and professionally at all times during interactions with producers, customers, and regulatory personnelResolves issues that arise to ensure timely pickup and delivery of milk to processing plantsDrives trucks as needed—cover vacations, leave time, etc.Helps resolve payroll and time keeping questions per requestMaintains daily paperworkAny other duties assigned by supervision
