Product Line Purchasing Specialist                    West Canton/Akron, OH area   Leading Tier 1 manufacturer seeking Product Line Specialist to join their team.  Be part of a innovative company focused on excellence in manufacturing products in an automotive/engineered products environment.  Provide technical acumen for purchased components regarding new project launches.  Unique opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with a passion for Purchasing.   The Product Line Purchasing Specialist will have the responsibility for:   Develop good working relationships with internal customers and external suppliers. Provide cost estimates for all components for new projects. Actively pursue cost savings and quality opportunities during preproduction phase. Interact with Buyers, Product Development, Quality Assurance, Production and Materials Management. Represent the Purchasing department in Project Team, New Product Costing meetings. Act as point of contact for all purchasing matters from technical and commercial standpoint.   Develop Strategies to win new business by meeting RFQ timeline and target costs. The Product Line Purchasing Specialist will assist NPD team in developing detailed project plans including technical, cost, and schedule performance. The Product Line Purchasing specialist will help lead the efforts related to faster introduction of product to market, cost reduction, supply base rationalization, improvement in the cost of quality, and cycle time reduction. Will act as technical resource on re-sourcing or value engineering related to purchasing. Manage projects by leading, directing cross functional teams thru cost reduction projects
