Senior Chemist needed for Port Arthur company. Summary: Responsible for determining the raw coke blend, storage, and loading to ensure that the calcined coke meets customer specifications. Job Duties: Prepares blending and inventory instructions based on inventories, incoming raw materials and customer orders. Issues instructions to operations on coke blending. Updates instructions based on actual conditions.  Issues instructions to operations for the loading of calcined coke to meet customer quality requirements. Coordinates SPC evaluations on all equipment and procedures. Ensures all sample room analysis is complete and accurate. Initiates preventative maintenance schedules on all equipment. Orders equipment and supplies for lab. Ensures that work areas and equipment are in compliance with the regulatory code and company requirements.  Assists in the development of written safety procedures prepared for jobs performed in the quality control department. Works with each direct report, where applicable, to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development for staff.  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Communicates clearly and concisely in a variety of communication settings and styles.
