Legrand has an opportunity for an Electrical Control Technician position at our Concord, NC facility. This is a second shift position. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, modifying, and repairing a wide variety of complex electrical equipment such as involved automatic controls in plant systems and automatic production equipment. A qualified candidate must be able to wire electrically and troubleshoot circuits quickly utilizing control schematics, ladder diagrams, and point to point wiring without documentation to avoid shut downs on equipment. Must be able to add and modify control circuitry as required to facilitate improvements Must be able to wire electrically and troubleshoot circuits quickly utilizing control schematics, ladder diagrams, and point wiring without documentation to avoid shut downs on equipment. Must be able to add and modify control circuitry as required to facilitate improvements. Ability to troubleshoot and repair related mechanical and pneumatic functions and controls as required to facilitate repairs and improvements. Provide technical support and assistance to maximize yield. Determine root causes of chronic failures and take steps to eliminate/alleviate. Examples of corrective actions are: modify machinery to more efficiently feed components and change out components and notify Q.A. if components are out of spec. etc. Perform and record preventive maintenance and equipment calibration as required. Participate as a team member in product and/or process trouble-shooting processes as required to solve existing problems and as a means of providing cost improvement for the end product. Keep supervisor informed in all areas effecting product quality and output. Interface and work directly with other support personnel i.e. Set-up, Process, Product, Engineers. Equipment used: All equipment used by Maintenance Technicians plus specialized electrical test, troubleshooting, and programming equipment such as VOM, Oscilloscope, programming terminals, and other supporting equipment as required. Materials used: All types of electrical and electromechanical control equipment including various PLC's, sensors, distributed control schemes, various input and output devices, analog and digital control devices, DC and stepper drives, various motion and motor controls, and other electrical and control equipment as required. Ability to troubleshoot and repair related mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic fuctions and controls as required to facilitate repairs and improvements. Other related duties as needed. Total responsiblity to eliminate non-conformance within quality of products.
