The Opportunity | Senior CISCO Network Administrator   This is an exciting opportunity to join our Corporate IT team in support of a newly implemented Operational Improvement Plan. You will work with local IT Operations team members in the deployment and maintenance of technologies crucial to the plan, as well as general IT Operations duties. Under general direction, you will be designing, evaluating, implementing, supporting, and maintaining Cisco networking and telecommunications systems. You will also provide backup support for server and storage administrators, as well as helpdesk and desktop support where needed. Your Challenge Networking Responsibilities: Oversees the day-to-day operation of data networks consisting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls and wireless infrastructure. Plans, designs, and implements data connectivity for local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems. Assists in coordinating projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware and software purchases, and system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Maintains LAN and WAN documentation. Researches and recommends network hardware and software. Assists in planning, coordinating, and consulting with vendors and clients for hardware and software purchases, product services, and support. Ensures configurations of all network related devices meet company security requirements. Maintains and supports Cisco network access control (NAC) systems to ensure only authorized devices connect to the company network. Maintains and supports authentication systems, such as TACACS, RADIUS, and RSA SecurID. Telecommunications Responsibilities: Oversees the day-to-day operation of Cisco voice over IP (VOIP) telephone systems, including call manager servers, voicemail servers, analog gateways, PSTN gateways, and IP phones. Plans, designs, and implements voice connectivity for local and remote sites. Assists in coordinating projects including voice related wiring plans, voice system hardware and software purchases, and system installation, maintenance and troubleshooting. Creates, modifies, and maintains device profiles as well as voicemail profiles. Maintains voice system documentation. Interfaces with service providers to resolve issues outside of local voice systems. Your Expertise 7-10 years of data networking experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred. CCNP certification, Security or Voice specializations preferred. Strong technical knowledge of network and PC, operating systems and hardware. Strong technical knowledge of TCP/IP networking and related concepts. Experience with routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF. Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information. Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience. Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain both DOD and DOE security clearances. This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
